VPL funds Community Initiatives for Violence Prevention Month

VPL has funded 6 community lead activities in Labrador;

Port Hope Simpson: CYN "GAP Centre raises awareness on violence through Community Building" A Community Breakfast and Youth Night

Charlottetown: Anti Violence Committee "Can't Happen To Me" Teen Dating: Healthy Vs Unhealthy relationships for ages 12-18.

Red Bay: CYN Teen Stop "Only Yes Means Yes" To raise awareness of and prevent youth sexual violence.

L'Anse Au Loup: CYN Paula's Place "Only Yes Means Yes" To raise awareness of and prevent youth sexual violence.

West St. Modeste: CYN "Antiviolence Presentation/ PingPong Tournament" Educating Parents and Youth on the root causes of Violence and tips for prevention.

Cartwright: CYN "Cartwright Celebrates Seniors!" Bridging the gap between youth and seniors and provided education and awareness of elder abuse.

Other VPL lead initiatives include:

VPL is hosting "Safe Spaces Training" on Feb. 22-23rd in HVGB.
VPL is hosting "Violence Awareness and Action Training" in Nain on Feb. 8th.
